Collected Remains
Artist Statement
Collected Remains transforms discarded studio objects into a meditation on memory and material significance. This charcoal composition approaches still life as constructed narrative, where found objects become protagonists in a carefully orchestrated visual story about what we preserve and what we leave behind.
The work functions as both observational drawing and constructed world—a quiet arrangement of forgotten or natural things made significant through selection, placement, and the hand that rendered them. Through dramatic variation in surface and density, these objects create a gentle rhythm of curves, spikes, and shadows.
