Challenge
Create a flag for a fictional tropical country that communicates national identity, geographic essence, and aspirational values using two principles of color theory. The flag needed to function at various scales and across merchandise applications, while maintaining conceptual clarity and strong symbolic meaning.
Concept
Elysia is a fictional island nation envisioned as a sun-soaked cultural paradise, rooted in peace, sustainability, and collective harmony. This project reimagined flag design not as a mere identifier, but as a symbolic vessel—a distillation of cultural story and emotional geography.
Color Theory Focus
Split Complementary Harmony for visual contrast and tropical vibrancy, combined with Simultaneous Contrast to emphasize emotional warmth and balance between hues.
