The Almost Right Word — Double-Sided Poster
Concept
This poster investigates misinformation's disruptive power through the lens of humorist Will Rogers. His quote—"Once ignorance gets started, it knows no bounds"—serves as a conceptual foundation to visualize the unchecked spread of disinformation.
Design Approach
On the front, enlarged, skewed slab serif letterforms misalign and overflow, representing how misinformation destabilizes clarity. The back fractures biographical content into irregular columns and image crops, referencing the loss of coherence. Western-inspired colors and rugged typography nod to Rogers' cowboy persona.
Result
The poster critiques visual distortion while maintaining legibility, creating tension between clarity and chaos. The dual-sided format opens a dialogue about information systems and societal trust.
